DEAN & COUNTRY LEAD, AFRICAN FOOD FELLOWSHIP

Brenda is Wasafiri’s Senior Manager in the Food Impact Area, and Dean and Implementation Lead for Kenya, for the African Food Fellowship, a program jointly implemented by Wasafiri and Wageningen University and Research (WUR) to spark food systems leaders.

As the Kenya Dean and Implementation Lead for the African Food Fellowship, Brenda will lead on recruitment, provide support, coordination, planning and mitigation, and respond to challenges for the smooth function of the cohorts in Kenya. Her role is pivotal in supporting the fellows to successfully complete the Food Systems Leadership Programme.

Within the wider Food Impact Area, Brenda plays a role in the design of projects; coordinating the proposal development process and establishing a high-quality delivery team. She has expertise in policy advocacy, value chain development, Food Safety systems, integrated livestock management, and seed systems. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Plant Biotechnology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya and is pursuing a Masters of Environmental Science from Kenyatta University, Kenya.
