“Systemcraft” in Action: Mitigating Young Kenyans Exposure to Extremism
Our toughest problems, from climate change, to racism, to food security, require system change rather than reactive fixes. But how do we actually do this? Drawing from a decade of work on the world’s most complex issues, Wasafiri codified their learning into Systemcraft – a practical framework for change leaders.
This event will share the key concepts of Systemcraft, and apply them in real-time to the dilemma of reducing the risk of disenfranchised young Kenyans turning to conflict and violent extremism. Join us to learn about the practice of system change in general, and the pioneering work underway to understand and mitigate the marginalization of vulnerable young people.
Our panelists are:
Aisha Adan
Aisha Adan is a Learning & Engagement Lead for Wasafiri’s work with at-risk youth in Kenya. She is an experienced development practitioner with a background in the fields of governance, extremism, peace and security.
Ian Randall, FRSA
Ian Randall is a Founding Director of Wasafiri, and an RSA Fellow. He is the co-author of Systemcraft. His own work on large-scale change has focussed on food system transformation, the climate crisis, and social justice.
