SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE CONSULTANT

Rikki is an agronomist, sustainable agriculture specialist and qualified trainer of trainers with more than 20 years’ experience across the agriculture sector. As a consultant with Wasafiri, he brings deep expertise in agribusiness development, crop protection, food safety systems, and capacity building. Rikki has worked extensively with farmers, agribusinesses, governments and development partners to strengthen agricultural value chains and support the adoption of sustainable farming practices. His career spans leadership, project management and policy advocacy, and he has facilitated numerous multi-stakeholder processes bringing together public and private sector actors, research organisations and civil society to address complex agricultural challenges.

Rikki has held senior roles across the sector, including serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Society of Crop Agribusiness Advisors of Kenya (SOCAA), where he helped establish the organisation as a recognised professional body advocating for stronger food safety systems and sustainable agriculture. He has also worked with organisations such as CABI, USAID and The Real IPM Company, delivering technical advisory services, market research, training programmes and policy support across Eastern and Southern Africa and the Caribbean. With a BSc in Agriculture (Agronomy), Rikki combines technical depth with practical field experience and a strong commitment to strengthening resilient food systems. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors and the thrills of overlanding.
