Mwendwa Catherine


Mwendwa brings nine years of experience in facilitating processes in philanthropy and peace spaces in Kenya and the Africa region. Her focus has been on driving conversations, research and action in local philanthropy policy and practice, countering violent extremism and enhancing community resilience.

Mwendwa currently leads the Giving Tuesday Africa Hub – a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Prior to this, Mwendwa served as a research and stakeholder engagement specialist across Wasafiri’s portfolios.

Mwendwa holds an MA in International Conflict Management and a Bachelors’ in Public Administration and Sociology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She is also a Senior International Fellow of the Centre of Philanthropy and Civil Society, Graduate Centre, City University of New York.
